On 2nd February 2013, Jennie’s beautiful baby girl Matilda Mae was tragically found sleeping. She was only 9 months old. Jennie has remained so strong throughout her ordeal and been a true inspiration to so many of us. The support, love and unity shown by the online community has been incredible to see and everyone has pulled together to help Jennie through this incredibly difficult and dreadful time.
Matilda Mae was 1 of 600 babies that die from SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) in the UK every year. We may never be able to comfort or heal Jennie’s pain and we may never be able to make sense of this tragic death but what we can do is help the Lullaby Trust in their bid to make the future a lot brighter for many more babies and their families.
The Lullaby Trust is the UK’s leading baby charity aiming to prevent unexpected deaths in infancy and promote infant health. They fund vital research into SIDS so that families like Matilda’s can be supported and given the answers they so desperately need. The Lullaby Trust also guides and supports families in making the first steps towards growing their family once more, with their Care of Next Infant program. They also provide a bereavement support service and help to educate parents on the importance of safe sleeping.
The Lullaby Trust needs your help in raising funds.
In conjunction with Jennie and Suzanne (Ghostwriter Mummy), Tots100 are running the Matilda Mae Memorial Auction between the 11th – 20th May 2013. The hope is to raise lots of essential funds for the trust so that more babies are given the chance at a brighter future.
