#LittleLoves // Week 3

I had so much fun joining in with this linky last week and found some nice new blogs to read too. It was great getting an insight in to what you’ve all been up to and thank you for all the lovely comments left here.

Here are my #LittleLoves for Week 3:

Read

Another goal of mine this year is to read more often with the boys. They both love books and Riley has such a wild imagination and Harry such an inquisitive mind that i want to do more to help them both reach their full potential.  Each week i let them choose a new book and i read it to them every night before bed. This week we’ve been reading The Day The Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt. It’s illustrated by Oliver Jeffers and all i’ll say is that after reading this fun and playful story, we’re all using crayons in a whole new way.

Watched

Broadchurch! After reading everyone’s posts last week i felt compelled to watch the very first episode to see what the hype was all about. One word – EPIC! Subsequently, i have done no blogging or work this week and have spent most evenings watching the entire first series and the start of the second series. I am hooked and blaming you all entirely for my lack of productivity.

Wore

Sharing one of my mini fashionista again. When i think back to when he was first born, i hated all the boys clothes on the highstreet, still today i find them all using the same colours, styles and designs everywhere. I’m so glad that over the last year or so more independent brands have launched fashionable ranges for boys that are hip & trendy and don’t conform to the norm. I constantly get criticised for putting the boys in leggings, but when they look this cool, how can i not? Riley is wearing Storm Boy Leggings from Tobias And The Bear and Cute Graffiti Lightning Sweatshirt from Monkey McCoy.

Heard

Riley teaching Harry to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It was quite literally the cutest thing i’ve ever seen. He was doing the little actions, dancing around the room and Harry just got up and started copying him. My heart literally burst with pride and melted in to a soppy mess. This was the reason i wanted more than one child, to have siblings so close in age – they have found a forever friend in each other and i love watching their bond grow.

Made

New friends. The good thing about Riley going to preschool, other than the fact it’s a great place for him to learn and socialise, is that i have made a couple of new friends too. For someone that suffers from social anxiety and usually keeps herself to herself, this is a HUGE deal. We’ve lived in this village for 6 months and up until now, i’ve only once ventured out in to the main highstreet. I’m hoping that this will be a new journey for me, as well as him.

And Lastly

I have accepted the fact that Harry is an adrenaline seeking daredevil who is determined to put me in an early grave. The kid has no fear, none whatsoever, he thinks he’s invincible and after numerous ‘incidents’ this week he is now sporting a grazed chin, a gash on his forehead and a rather fetching black eye.

Have a great weekend all! I’m looking forward to seeing what all the other #LittleLoves bloggers have been up to!

omg…I’ve started watching Broadchurch from the beginning this week too I would watch 2 episodes whilst M was napping!! It is literally amazing and I don’t know why I never watched it when it first came on!! Just got to watch this weeks and I’m all caught up!

    • 20 January, 2015 / 2:44 pm

I know right? I have no idea why i’ve never watched it before because it is totally my sort of thing but i do think they dragged things out a little longer than necessary in the first series! xxx

Your boys always look so cool! I love Riley’s outfit. I’d love to dress E in this but I need her to quickly grow out of her pink phase!
So good to read that you’ve made new friends. I always find it easier to be more confident when I’m with my girls, weird huh?
    Have a lovely weekend xxx

Aww thank you sweetie! I have much more fun dressing them than i do me! I am totally the same when it comes to meeting people, having the boys around me definitely gives me more confidence. xxx

Oh poor Harry! He looks like he has been in the wars this week! Love Riley’s outfit! So adorable!! Enjoy the start of season 2 of Braodchurch! #littlelove xx

He is your typical toddler boy but just so boisterous and daring with it. I can’t leave him alone for 5 minutes lol xxx

I love ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers – adorable pictures! I have made loads of friends in my town since having children – I didn’t know anyone here before. Children are definitely a great ice breaker and give you an immediate bond with people experiencing the same kind of trials, tribulations (and the nice bits too 😉 ) Your little boy really has been in the wars hasn’t he?! I thought my two were bad! Have a great weekend X #littleloves

You are so right, i find it much easier to mingle with other mums/adults when there’s children involved. It really helps calm my nerves xxx

Poor Harry – though kids are tough it probably hurts you more than him! I have managed to avoid Broadchurch thus far, to be fair, the hubby usually selects the channel, and I just go with it or read. I totally agree about the lack of boys clothes on the highstreet – I really must start looking for other places! Have a great weekend x

    • 20 January, 2015 / 3:18 pm

That is definitely the case! I cry and worry about him all the time whereas he just gets up and carries on like nothing’s happened. Thank you, hope you have a lovely weekend too! xxx

Your boys are just too cute!! 🙂 We have The day the Crayons Quit too – Annie got it for Christmas and it’s a new favourite over here! So glad that you enjoyed Broadchurch-it’s totally addictive isn’t it? Have a fab weekend lovely xxx

    • 20 January, 2015 / 3:19 pm

It’s such a fun little story isn’t it? I am totally addicted, i have no idea why i never watched the first series when it was first showing! xxx

I’ve never heard of this book before but think I’ll have to go and Google it. My little boy loves books so I’m always on the hunt for new ones to add to his collection.
That’s so cute about Twinkle Twinkle. Its amazing when you see siblings interacting.

Hope you have a lovely weekend xx

I would highly recommend it, the boys have barely put the book down and it’s such a cute and fun little story. It really is, i always knew i wanted children close in age for this very reason. Riley is such a wonderful big brother and i love watching their relationship grow xxx

  8. 16 January, 2015 / 9:21 pm

    Stylish kiddos! love the outfit!

It’s so nice to chat to others at the pre-school gates isn’t it, especially when your kids are spending regular time together. I still feel quite shy talking to them!

Oh your poor boy! My girls have also had fetching black eyes before from having no fear what so ever! x

    • 20 January, 2015 / 3:22 pm

I am such a socially awkward person usually, but actually the preschool is proving to be quite a relaxed setting and the other parents are so friendly. I don’t know what i was so worried about. xxx

Oh poor little Harry! I hope he’s ok, boys get into everything! Loving Riley’s jumper too and siblings teaching each other things, especially singing, is the cutest! x

    • 20 January, 2015 / 3:23 pm

He’s absolutely fine thanks Donna, just gets up and carries on like nothing’s happened! Such a trooper! I on the other hand, cried like a baby when his eye came out so black and blue! haha! xxx

Oh poor little Harry- hope his eye is better soon. I love Riley’s jumper so cute and trendy. And I haven’t watched Broadchurch but I have seen so many people talk about it so it is definitely one for my list. x

    • 20 January, 2015 / 3:24 pm

Thank you lovely, he’s taken so many knocks and tumbles in the last week i’m getting used to seeing him with bumps and bruises but doesn’t make me feel any better about it. Oh you totally must watch it Katie, it really is so addictive, albeit a little drawn out! xxx

  11. 18 January, 2015 / 11:11 pm

What a nasty bump. I hope he’s healing quickly. Well done on making new friends for yourself, it can be very scary when you are anxious so it’s a great step forward x #littleloves

    • 20 January, 2015 / 3:25 pm

He is, it’s gone more of a yellowish green colour now and the cut has healed nicely! Thank you, i’ve always been a shy and socially awkward person so think if i keep putting myself in these types of situations, maybe i’ll overcome it! xxx

  12. 19 January, 2015 / 10:40 am

Oh bless Harry he did himself an injury there hasn’t he! Hope he recovers soon.

I love Riley’s outfit and nothing wrong with putting him in leggings! I put Noah in tights as I hate socks and I am always getting looked at funny. No one has actually dared say anything to me. Both Nick and my Mum were unsure at first but then saw how convenient and cute they are!

    • 20 January, 2015 / 3:27 pm

Thank you sweetie, the cut has healed nicely and the bruise is more of a yellowish green colour now! The looks and stares from others always really annoys me, we should be free to dress our children how we like. I have tights for my 2 as well, they’re so practical and functional. There’s so many styles for boys these days, fashion has come a long way in the last couple of years! xxx

  13. 20 January, 2015 / 2:48 pm

I do actually agree with you in that respect, they definitely dragged out the first series a little longer than was necessary. I much prefer the setup of American shows like CSI or Criminal Minds. xxx

  14. 22 January, 2015 / 10:47 am

Wow. Now I think I need to watch Broadchurch too. Your boys are the sweetest really! Harry might be a superhero you never know! x
