#LittleLoves // Week 5

Happy Friday, lovely to see you all again! If i’m honest, this past week has been a little pants and i’m quite glad it’s over with. I mentioned last week that i had been feeling under the weather and a trip to the doctors soon confirmed i had a chest, throat and upper respiratory infection. Being ill officially sucks when you’re a mama, there’s no such thing as a ‘sick day’ and as Mr B works away all week, there’s no-one on hand to give me a break. (technically that’s a lie as my mum lives next door but you know what i mean!). I thought i could just about manage the normal daily routine, but what i hadn’t anticipated for was that both boys would be struck down with the same thing and being boys, they are feeling rather sorry for themselves.

We also had Mr B’s nan’s funeral on Monday which was a beautiful celebration of her life, 90 years of life to be exact, but pretty heartbreaking at the same.

Anyway, on to this week’s #LittleLoves:

Read

This lovely post over on Dear Beautiful about their adventure to Castle Park had me smiling. It’s part of a new series where Lucy’s little family are going on a new adventure every week in 2015 and she’s sharing those adventures with us through her blog. The photography is stunning and Lucy has a way of capturing special moments perfectly. Make Do And Push wrote a poem about pregnancy insomnia which is just brilliant and something i think all us mamas can relate too. I was reading and nodding along in agreement the whole way through, certainly brings back some memories. Finally i came across this great post from the lovely My Mills Baby asking the question ‘Is Fat Ever Sexy?’ Frankly i could have written this post myself as she took the words right out of my mouth. I am in the exact same situation and had the exact same conversation with Mr B a few weeks ago.

Heard

You Ruin Me by The Veronicas. This song was actually released back on 19th September 2014 but somehow i’ve never come across it until now. It’s a ballad, which is unusual for The Veronicas’ twins as they haven’t released anything of this genre before but i absolutely love it.

Watched

This vlog from the gorgeous Charlotte over on the MumTalkTV channel. As someone who is embarking on a ‘life detox’ this year and desperate to lose weight (i’m currently at my biggest and heaviest), i found i could really resonate with everything she was saying. I’ve been following her weight loss journey from the start – i actually met Charlotte briefly at Britmums Live last year and she really is as genuine, down to earth and approachable as she comes across online. All i can say is that she really is one inspirational mama and this vlog was just the kick up the ass i needed, so if you’re after some tips and advice on losing weight, i’d definitely recommend giving it a watch.

Made

A hot chocolate if that counts? Though it pains me to say it, that really is as exciting as my week has got! It had lots of yummy marshmallows too, just what the doctor ordered!

Wore

High-street fashion.  As i’ve said before i prefer to shop ‘independent’ when it comes to the boys clothes but the high street shops have got some fab bits in at the moment and i couldn’t resist putting this little ensemble together for Riley. The top is from the River Island Mini range (it’s actually a t-shirt over a long sleeve vest) and the hat and jeans are both from Next.

And Lastly…

We had snow today! Just a little dusting but enough that Riley got to see some snowflakes fall from the sky and exhaled ‘WOW, so pretty mummy’. He’s adamant it was caused by Santa landing on our rooftop, i didn’t have the heart to tell him otherwise, instead i explained that Santa must have been stopping by to check he was being a good boy for mummy!

Have a fab weekend lovelies! xxx

Oh no, it is awful when you are feeling rotten, and even worse if the kids are down too! Hopefully this week will be much better for you. I could do with reading some of these weight lose motivating blogs, and vlogs. My excuse is it is too cold. I’ll have a hot chocolate with you instead! Try to have a nice weekend missus x

Well hello there and thank you for your comment on my blog today! It’s taken me until now to catch up on the rest of the #littleloves posts…so many to read. And you’re right – what a lovely bunch of girls.
I’m sorry you’ve not been well – it’s difficult when you’ve kids. My back went into spasm this week which saw me off my feet for 2 days. Or at least, that was what the doc ordered…in reality, I was hobbling about during the night, dishing out medicine, changing bedsheets and comforting little ones 🙁 but all part of the job I guess!
Love the post – how cute is your wee man in his blue ensemble…going to be a heartbreaker. I hope you have a lovely weekend and that you get some rest to fight off the last of your infections. Ax

I hope you are feeling better. It is horrid being ill when you are a mum as you can never really rest.
I didn’t realise River Island sold boys clothes! Will have to have a look there x
