There is only one week to go until Christmas Day (no, really!) and we are in full festive mode here at Love From Mummy HQ. The shopping is done, presents are wrapped, stockings are full, the boy’s Christmas Eve Basket is ready (I’ll be blogging about this on Monday), we’ve visited Santa’s Grotto and prep is underway for Christmas Day dinner hosting!
It’s the first year the boys have really understood Christmas and we’ve been having lots of festive fun with Ben And Holly this week as part of our ambassador role with them. They have plenty of fun activities available to keep little ones busy over the festive season and we were very kindly sent a selection of them to try out at home. These include Christmas cards, DIY crackers, making hot chocolate, letters to Santa and a festive dot to dot.
Riley had the most fun making the crackers; the step-by-step picture instructions were so easy for him to follow and we even added a small packet of haribo sweets in to our crackers so that he give them out to the other preschool children at their Christmas Party last Friday.
He enjoyed colouring in the Christmas card, I think he was going for an abstract Picasso style, and mummy wrote a little message inside to wish his preschool keyworker a very Merry Christmas.
Riley also completed the dot to dot, which is a fabulous activity for little ones who are developing their pencil control and writing skills. He’s starting “big school” next year so it’s something we’re working hard on at the moment. And, Harry was able to count along as Riley joined up the dots so it’s great for some number fun as well.
We also wrote a letter to Father Christmas and made some yummy hot chocolate using Nanny Plum’s recipe and he loved having the mini marshmallows on top. Secretly, I quite did too, they’re fat-free don’t you know?!
If you fancy having some festive fun with Ben And Holly then you can check out the festive activities on the Ben And Holly’s Little Kingdom Website.
