Review // Teletubbies Pull & Play Giant Noo Noo

The Teletubbies – it’s a firm favourite in most households right? I don’t know about anyone else but I was secretly quite pleased when I heard that Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po were making their way back to our tv screens after a 14 year hiatus!

I have fond memories of watching the show with my siblings when we were younger and though the new series has been given a creative brush-up and enhanced with a little technological magic, it definitely stays true to the legacy of the original. The beloved characters have been subtly updated with touch-screen tummies and there’s the addition of the “tubby phone” – a mobile gadget aimed at bringing Teletubbies in touch with the expectations of today’s kids – but everything else is essentially the same.

Following the return of the iconic Teletubbies series, Character Options has upgraded its popular range of toys with new technology and improved educational play value and a particular highlight from the range is the Teletubbies Pull & Play Giant Noo Noo.

Giant Pull & Play Noo Noo

This giant electronic activity centre is suitable for children aged 18months-4 years and is packed full of features designed to aide their development. The 6-piece shape sorter and 3D Teletubbies character jigsaw for example, encourage problem solving and hand-eye coordination while the Pull-along aspect promotes special awareness and gross motor skills.

The shapes and jigsaw pieces are of a great quality, really chunky and the perfect size for little fingers to hold on to. Plus, when they’re finished playing, all pieces can be stored away within the shape sorter compartment. Perfect!

Also included with this toy is a magnetic custard splat, which Harry is particularly fascinated by because Noo Noo picks it up and then makes custard slurping effects when its pulled along – just like on the show.

There are four buttons on top of Noo Noo that when pressed produce various different Teletubbies phrases and sound effects. They sound identical to the ones you here during the show, which is great, and the boys love them…but me? Not so much – they get quite annoying to listen to after a while, but hey, that’s where the mute button comes in handy!

Overall it is a fantastic toy and children will definitely benefit in several ways from the Pull & Play Giant Noo Noo; the toy teaches cause and effect, develops hand-eye coordination, gross motor skills and fine motor skills, promotes special awareness and problem solving – the list goes on! As parents, we know that our children learn best through play and when they’re having fun – this toy allows them to do just that and promises plenty of laughs in the process with its characteristic googly eyes, custard slurping and sound effects!
