I really like the quality of Hape Toys. I love that they take the environment and children’s safety seriously and into account to make some of the most beautiful, useful and lasting toys I have ever seen.
As the world’s largest producer of wooden toys, Hape is clearly dependent on the use of natural materials. A full line of bamboo toys takes advantage of the special properties of this highly renewable material. Plastic parts are ensured durable enough to last for generations in order to encourage toys to be passed down rather than thrown out.
Their products are solidly constructed, beautifully painted and the attention to detail is amazing.
HAPE DUMPER TRUCK
The Hape Dumper Truck is a must have toy for any construction or transport obsessed child. Thankfully I have two – inevitable really when their Grandad owns farming and plant hire companies – so this dumper truck went down a treat with both of them.
Riley and Harry are very familiar with construction vehicles; they know what each one is called, what they do and how they work. They love to role play and this Hape Dumper Truck allows them to do just that. It’s been designed to encourage creative play and storytelling and it’s wonderful to be able to sit and watch the boys act out different scenarios.
They like to use it in conjunction with their other construction vehicles, pretending to load the truck using a digger and then transporting the loads of dirt/sand/wood to other areas of the “site”.
The truck’s features are detailed and very realistic. I love the choice of colours as well as I feel they accurately reflect the vehicles you would see on an actual construction site. It’s this attention to detail that makes their toys much more realistic and engaging for children in my opinion.
This construction truck encourages hours of play with its classic style, bright hue finish and smooth rolling wheels. It’s perfect for children who are fascinated with vehicles and things that go!
The Hape Dumper Truck has an RRP of £20.99 and is available to purchase from Amazon.
HAPE PITTA POCKET LUNCH
This 16-piece Pitta Pocket Lunch set from Hape’s ‘Playfully Delicious’ range is a tasty-looking menu item packed with a lesson in healthy eating. Riley and Harry love role play so it’s been perfect for them as it inspires imagination and creativity in the kitchen.
The two fabric pitta pockets can be filled with an assortment of ingredients including lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cheese, onion, meat and green peppers. The ingredients are made from felt or painted wood and allow the boys to interact and really pretend play just like they see when I’m making their packed lunches. Or when they go to a deli, which creates subs and sandwiches whilst you wait.
The process of filling the pittas with ingredients is great for developing flexibility and fine motor skills. It could also be used as a way to encourage counting and sharing, as well as teaching little ones about the importance of healthy eating.
The Hape Pitta Pocket Lunch is made with maple wood, plywood and textiles coloured with nontoxic, water based paints. It also comes packaged in recycled paper printed with soy ink, making it a great choice for children and the environment. I love that all of the items were individually wrapped, so the boys had lots of fun opening them all up to discover what was inside.
Hape Pitta Pocket Lunch is available to purchase from Amazon.
