Christmas Gift Guide 2016 // For Kids (Aged 5+)

Next up in my Gift Guide series is “Christmas Gift Guide For Kids”. These products are specifically aimed at kids aged 5 years+ and i’ve tried to include as much variety as possible.

Christmas Gift Guide For Kids

1 // Pickin Chickens Game £16.99 If you’re looking for something to occupy the little big kids on Christmas Day then this is the game for you. The idea is to help the farmer save his chickens from the fox. One player gives the farmyard base a good spin, then everyone chooses a chicken coop to lift. If they reveal a hen, they can take one of that colour and add it to their collection. But they better watch out! If the fox jumps up, everyone loses a chicken! The perfect game for my two who enjoy helping to look after the chickens at Grandad’s farm.

2 // Fur Real Friends Torch My Blazing Dragon £83.99 Kids can go on magical adventures with their very own FurReal Friends Torch the Dragon. This playful little guy is just learning the tricks of the dragon trade, so he doesn’t really breathe flame, but he does breathe flame-coloured mist! They can reward him by giving him a delicious treat and when they hold the marshmallow to his mouth they’ll be amazed to see that it turns golden brown when Torch breathes mist onto it! With colourful fur that’s perfect for petting and 50+ sound and motion combinations, this cute dragon would be a welcome surprise under the tree on Christmas morning.

3 // Oregon Scientific SmartGlobe Discovery £59.99 The SmartGlobe Discovery from Oregon Scientific is the perfect fun, educational gift for kids. It enables them to explore the world through 19 fun learning activities in the comfort of their home! They can use the talking Smart Pen to interact with the product and hear about fascinating topics ranging from Continents, Countries, capitals, population and currency. There’s also a local map to explore more about their own country. I’m especially looking forward to trying this out with Riley because he’s very inquisitive about the world around him and absolutely loves learning new things so i can’t wait to see how he gets on with it.

4 // Smiggle Dream Catcher Kit £11.50 & Smiggle Scratch & Squiggle Book £11.50 Creative kids will love these activity kits from Smiggle. The Smiggle Dream Catcher kit features a step-by-step guide for them to design their own dream catcher using charms, beads, feathers and sequins. The Smiggle Scratch & Squiggle Book features a scratch tool and spiral designer tools that they can use to create some cool, original artwork. We’re huge fans of Smiggle here…their products are all about great design and innovation, bold colour, quirky graphics, great value and most of all – giving Smiggle fans the tools they need to have fun.

5 // Hatchimals £59.99 The MUST-HAVE toy this Christmas is Hatchimals and they are selling out…fast! Hatchimals are magical creatures that live inside of eggs. As kids love and care for their egg, its eyes will light up and it makes cute sounds, telling them how it’s feeling! After enough love and care, they’ll see rainbow eyes which means it’s ready to hatch! They can encourage the Hatchimal by touching the egg, and watch in amazement as it gradually pecks its way out of the egg. Once it’s hatched, they can raise their Hatchimal through 3 stages of life, from baby to toddler to kid.

6 // Nerf N-Strike Elite Hyperfire £29.99 The new Hyperfire Blaster is the fastest motorized Nerf dart blaster on the market, unleashing 5 darts per second to wipe out any opponents. With a press of the acceleration button and a pull of the trigger, rapid-fire action begins sending out a deluge of darts. Targets down stand a chance against the Nerf N-Strike Elite Hyperfire.

7 // K’NEX K-Force K-5 Phantom Blaster £9.99 & K’NEX Thrill Rides Electric Inferno Set £39.99 With toys to suit every budget and packed full of play value, children are able to build bigger and better this Christmas thanks to K’NEX. At the bottom end of the budget is the K’NEX K-Force K-5 Phantom Blaster which includes rods and connectors for kids to build their very own customizable blaster that fires up to 75ft away. At the other end of the scale is the K’NEX Thrill Rides Electric Inferno Set which includes 640 pieces to create a rollercoaster 2.5ft tall and 3ft wide. With a motorized chain lift, building fans can watch a car zoom around the track to bring their creation to life!

8 // Berrybee Cottage Dolls House £100.00 Berrybee Cottage is a beautiful wooden dolls house, painted throughout with three large open-plan floors and functioning fabric curtains which hang from every window. The hardwearing painted finish is wipe-clean so will continue to look beautiful for years to come, and the roof panels can either be removed completely or the front roof panel can be placed on the back for easy access to the attic space. Lots of sweet little details will inspire creative imaginative play, including opening window shutters, two staircases, front door for the dolls and even a letter box! We are actually giving one of these away…you can find out how to win it here!

9 // Trolls Hug Time Poppy £49.99 Inspired by the DreamWorks Trolls movie, Hug Time Poppy stands 14 inches tall and speaks 25 phrases when you press her tummy. She even plays songs from the film because with a song in your heart, you can do anything! Kids can use Poppy to recreate scenes from the film and even wear a light up bracelet just like the doll’s – when activated, their matching bracelets and the doll’s hair all light up to the beat of the music.

10 // Silly Sausage Game £22.99 & Soggy Doggy Game £19.99 Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without some family bonding time and board games. Silly Sausage was rated as one of the top 12 products at Dream Toys 2016 and it’s easy to see why. With 10 grillin’ games and 5 sizzlin’ actions – Twist ME, Shake ME, Poke ME, Stretch ME and Dip ME, it’s a great game the whole family can enjoy. Soggy Doggy is better suited for families with younger children and is a super fun showering, shaking, doggy bathing game involving real water. Race around the board washing and showering soggy doggy, but watch out because he loves to shake himself dry. Be prepared to get wet!

11 // Molly Brown Personalised Little Wish Pink Fairy Necklace £50.00 If you are looking for a personalised keepsake gift for girls, then look no further than the Little Wish Fairy Necklace from Molly Brown London. This stunning necklace was inspired by the Sleeping Beauty fairy-tale and features a hand-painted enamel fairy set on a 14-16” sterling silver chain. The fairy has 9ct gold vermeil slippers on little wobbly legs and you can personalise a choice of Little Wish charms for free with Molly Brown’s Complimentary Engraving Service. The attention to detail and sheer craftsmanship of this necklace is what sets it apart from others in my opinion. It is truly beautiful and a treasured keepsake that would make the perfect gift for any girls in your life this Christmas.

12 // SelfieMic £19.99 Let your kids bring out their inner pop star and create their own music videos with the SelfieMic. Working in conjunction with a smartphone (not included) and the free StarMaker singing app, kids can sing, lip sync and perform to their favourite songs on their own or with their friends. It comes complete with an adjustable selfie stick, karaoke microphone, earpiece & a free StarMaker singing app. Inside each pack is an exclusive code for 1,000 in-app music tokens to spend on the best tracks, including songs by Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Little Mix, Ed Sheeran and lots more. The SelfieMic is going straight into my niece’s stocking this Christmas – she is the biggest diva going, loves to put on shows for us and adores singing!

I know! There was a new must-have LeapFrog toy that Riley wanted for Christmas but it has literally sold out everywhere and no stock is expected until the new year now. He’s going to be so disappointed 🙁 xx

It seems quite a few missed out on Hatchimals this Christmas which is sad. We ended up having to buy my niece one off of ebay and paying a ridiculous amount for it! xx
