Review // Nerf Super Soaker Floodinator

The boys were kept very busy (and cool) over the summer with the new Nerf Super Soaker Floodinator from Hasbro.

Nerf Super Soaker Floodinator

The Nerf line of Super Soakers features many different blasters with different water capacity and drenching abilities. The Nerf Super Soaker Floodinator is a basic, but fun, pump action water blaster that holds 2litres (70 oz) of water and can shoot up to 38ft (11.5metres)..

The minimal packaging is 100% recyclable and it took a matter of seconds to cut the strings and release the water blaster.

Nerf Super Soaker Floodinator

The Nerf Super Soaker Floodinator is extremely lightweight when empty, however filling the 2litre tank to capacity does obviously change that, giving a load that is just about manageable for my 6-year-old Riley. Harry, who is 4 years’ old cannot operate the blaster when full, so I’ve been filling it with less water when he wants to use it.

Both boys find the blaster really ease to use as it has a basic pump action firing mechanism. Pumping is smooth and streams produced by its single nozzle on the barrel are pretty decent. The only downside to this aspect of the blaster is that continuous streams are not possible.

Refilling of the Nerf Super Soaker Floodinator is via a hole in the top of the tank, which is wide enough to accommodate a tap or hose pipe with ease. The snap cap used to secure the water in the tank has a snug fit, yet is surprisingly easy to grip and open. What we have found though is that because of the air hole in the reservoir cap, if the Floodinator is turned on its side or held at certain angles when there’s water inside, it leaks out of the top.

The Nerf Super Soaker Floodinator claims to shoot water up to 38ft although we have only managed 30ft so far – not that this affects the play or functionality of the blaster at all because you really don’t need much more distance in a good water fight!

I know, the weather over summer was a little disappointing, to be honest, but they’ve been using the Super Soaker to water the garden and everything lol xx
