Halloween has always been my favourite holiday. There is something about all the black and orange, the ghosts, the witches, the skeletons, the cobwebs, the pumpkins, the costumes, the trick or treating, the bobbing apples and the weather that makes me happy.
I love that it’s cold enough to be coat season but not so freezing that your fingers feel as though they’re about to fall off – and I also love the fact that everyone takes getting costumed-up so seriously.
Whether you’re staying in to decorate and transform your home into a haunted house, preparing treat bowls for the neighbourhood kids, having a scary movie marathon or heading out to the nearest Halloween party with your friends…it’s the perfect occasion to have fun whilst experimenting with your image. And for one day only, you can look as ridiculous as you want without a care in the world because no one will bat an eyelid.
Not a big fan of getting dressed-up in ghoulish fancy dress? Well, then you’re in luck as I’ve hunted down the high street Halloween fashion that’s more treat than trick. Forget about the face paint and fake blood…it’s all about the dramatic lace, the heavy ruffles, the velvet and the shades of plum paired with some kitsch slogan tees and boo-tiful prints/accessories to create a more low-key Halloween outfit.
So, If you’re struggling with costume ideas or just fancy getting into the Halloween spirit without going too over the top, here are my favourite Halloween fashion picks from the high street.
I absolutely love the Cat Bodycon Dress and think clubbing it with the Cat Ears Hairband and a pair of boots would really complete the look.
I’m also crushing on the Spider Web Print Leggings. Styling them with a black crop top and some dark makeup would create an effortlessly cool Halloween look.
Then there’s the Spider Web Bodysuit which glows in the dark and would look gorgeous against the Plum Mesh Skirt.
And how cute are those BOO! Bags? If you’re looking for an environmentally friendly, reusable & stylish alternative to traditional ‘Trick or Treat’ bags then these would be perfect. These would also come in handy if you’re hosting a Halloween party and are in need of some favour bags.
